Jake's Birthday - Australia Zoo
bindi irwin

Jake turned five today, as did Bob Irwin, the youngest kid of the Irwin clan and as a special birthday promo all kids got into Australia Zoo for free, so that's what we did for Jake's birthday :)

For Bob's birthday they had a dinosaur themed day happening
dino jumping castle

We also had to sit through a birthday bash that involved a very annoying female entertainer chick, spot the dog, postman pat and bananas in pajamas. It was a grueling hour show and even bob who was a few seats over was more interested in climbing around on stuff then listening to the endless amount of songs they were churning out!

After that the Irwin clan come on and cut the cake for the media
irwins, Bindi, Bob, Terri

I ended up seeing Bindi a few more times that day, it's kind of weird she just walks around and what not, I thought she would be stalked by a pack on pre-teen girls but the most I saw was this desperate mum chasing Bindi through the cafeteria with a huge camera in one hand and her kid dangling off the other *shakes head*

Anyway they had their normal animal show on after wards and I must admit it was pretty awesome, with birds flying everywhere, elephants and snakes and crocodiles :)

wrestling a crocodile
I was trying to go for the wrestle in this pic, but I dunno if I pulled it off too well!

The birthday boy

We then went and checked out the farm zoo, I'm a sucker for cute farm animals as you might of noticed if you read my blog :P

sheep

lharma

goat

cute piglets
awwww piggies! How can they not warm your heart I ask you!

Next was the crocodiles
crocodile

they're pretty awesome and I got to say I have a strange desire to wrestle one before I die!

We also checked out the koalas and Kangaroos
koala in tree

kangaroo and jake

crikey jumping
more sillyness and blindingly white belly!

I think my favourite animals of the day were the elephants!
elephants at water

elephants lifting man
and come on how cool is that, I want to be lifted!

three elephants
They were saying the two older elephants are around 50 years old and that elephants have an the mindset of a 6 year old, interesting!

They also have a really cool enclosure, well the best elephant enclosure I've seen :)
elephant gate

The last thing we saw were the snakes

snake
I had a dream the night before of having a pet snake that always use to bite me and as a result I was terrified of it. I eventually asked mum to cook it in hot water to drown it. Killing my pets is a reoccurring dream I have, and I always wake up feeling so bad! Does someone want to dream analyse that?

worlds most venomous snake
and this my friends is the world's most venomous snake, don't ask me it's name because I forgot that minor detail :P

Before I end this exciting blog entry, I must show you the world's creepiest statue..

Irwin's Bronze Sculpture
If I die, please don't immortalise me in Bronze!

and I appreciated this...

that looks like so much fun! zoos here in the states don't let u interact with the animals like that. usually, they're in a fenced in area, surrounded by a moat or a ditch, and then there is a railing u can stand at.

well this zoo is similiar but it's one of the most user friendly zoo I've been too, of course certain animals for saftey have to be kept well away but for animals that don't they plan it well :)

It's really focused on animal conservation and the idea that you protect things you love so they want you to fall in love with the animals....okay now i'm just getting cheesy!

lol

bananas in pajamas are pretty cool. To be honest they kind of woke me up after sitting through some bad, spot the dog and postman pat impersonators!
There is something about the bananas that's just so appealing...
but I didn't just say that !
